Kerry Katona has joked her panellist job on ‘Loose Women’ ruined her marriage to Brian McFadden.
The Atomic Kitten star, who was a panellist on the popular ITV daytime show from 2003 to 2004, returned to the show to celebrate it’s 18th birthday.
But as she took her seat back on the panel, the singer, who has been candid about aspects of her personal life including her failed marriages, told everyone a story about how she turned down the chance to go along with her husband to the studio where he was recording a song with Australian star Delta Goodrem.
Fans will remember how Kerry and Brian ended up divorcing in 2004 when he began a relationship with Delta in the same year.
Joking about how she could have still been married to Brian had she not agreed to appear on the show, Kerry revealed: “I was Kerry McFadden and you don’t know this but every time I was on Loose Women, I would say, ‘my Brian this, my Brian that,’ and this one time he said to me, “I’m going to record this new single with this girl called Delta Goodrem, will you come with me?’
“I said, ‘I can’t I’m doing Loose Women..’ Can you imagine if I didn’t come on this show and I’d still be married! Loose Women ruined my marriage!,” the mum of five declared.
Surprised by her claim, Nadia Sawalha worryingly asked if Kerry really felt that way.
However, the singer was quick to clarify that she was only joking because of the other reasons behind a marriage breakdown.
“No don’t be so stupid. I just thought it was something funny to tell,” Kerry confessed.
“If someone falls out of love with you, there’s nothing you can do whether you’re a Loose Women or not.
“But no I think if someone falls out of love with you, they fall out of love.”
